Macmillan cancer support and the RNLI are the Knitting Goddesses (and Gods) charities of the year for 2012.
Over the year there will be different fund raising events, and these include limited edition sock yarns and stitch markers. If you see a yarn here it won't be available from the main shop for 3 months.
Each skein sold raises £2 for our charities and the money is donated directly through their website to minimise costs to them.
4 ply sock yarn is a soft feeling, hard wearing yarn. Consisting of 75% superwash merino and 25% nylon, each skein is approximately 100g / 425m.
This yarn can be machine washed on a wool or delicate setting at temperatures up to 40 degrees centigrade. We’ve tested this at home and know that it’s happy in our machine (an Indesit) and with our detergent (Ecover). However machines and detergents vary, and we always recommend that you wash a swatch before committing a garment.
