You’ve heard of the seven degrees of Kevin Bacon game – where anyone or anything in Hollywood can be linked to Kevin Bacon in seven steps or less.
But what does that have to do with socks? Is Kevin Bacon a knitter?
For 2013 we’re offering you the Seven Degrees of Kevin Bacon sock club. But there’s a twist. Instead of linking things to Kevin, we’ll be using Helena Bonham Carter as our starting point.
The 12 yarns will all be special editions for the club, and there are no plans to release them again. All 12 will be semi solid colour ways, and you’ll receive 100 grams of yarn. Each month there will also be a pattern designed by Rachel Coopey, and these patterns will be exclusive to club members for 3 months. For the first time we’re going to offer you a choice of yarn – so you can have our sock yarn (75% superwash merino, 25% nylon with 425 meters to 100 grams) or 4ply SparkLynne yarn (75% superwash merino, 20% nylon, 5% silver stellina sparkle with 400 meters to 100 grams). Also new for this year is the option to buy just the yarn. We’re offering this option because we don’t plan to dye these colours.
You’ll be able to pay for the club on a month by month basis.
For UK customers each month of sock yarn and pattern will cost £18.00, Sparklynne yarn and pattern will cost £21.00, sock yarn only will cost £15.00 and Sparklynne yarn only will cost £18.00. These prices include UK postage – for Europe we need to charge an extra £1 and for the rest of the world an extra £2 . If you’d like more than one skein of yarn a month the UK postage of £3.00) will be taken off the price of the second skein.
Please use the drop down menus to pick the option you'd like.
Both yarns and patterns will remain exclusive to club members for 3 months.
Postage is now included in all of our club costs, so if you're only buying club memberships please choose the clubs and downloads option at checkout to avoid paying postage twice.
