Semi solid colours are dyed in a single colour - but in such a way that there are variations of tone in the skein. Some are more solid than others as a result of this, and each skein will be different in the amount of variation.

4 ply weight 100% merino superwash sock yarn which can be washed at up to 40C. We've tested our sock wool yarns by washing at 40 degrees in a washing machine with Ecover detergent, and both yarn and colours emerged happy. However machines and detergents vary, so we suggest that you knit a tiny sample from your sock yarn and wash it in the same way as you will treat your final socks. In the unlikely event any colour does fade you'll know you need to treat your socks differently. You should do this for every colour as different dyes can react to different detergents.

Knits to 36 stitches and 44 rows to 10 cm in stocking stitch on 2.25mm pins - this gives a firm fabric for socks, or 28 stitches and 36 rows in stocking stitch on 3.25mm pins
