The silk has been threaded with hundreds of red seed beads, then plied with the cashmere. The beads have been arranged in little clusters of 3 (or occasionally 4) and are held in place by the silk. The yarn has then been dyed a deep plum colour, so the beads stand out and sparkle. Each skein measures approximately 450m and contains approximately 2000 beads.
