COVID-19 (Corona Virus) has meant major changes to all of our lives. It's a fast moving situation, and it's likely that what we're doing will change, possibly with very little notice.

Orders are packed by one of us .  There's no public access to either the workshop or the yarns which are stored at home. Only one of us is at the workshop (Joy) as Bobbie works from home. There are no other staff. It's just us. The workshop is a couple of minutes walk from home and it's rare for me to meet anyone on my commute to work. It's easy to stay at least 2 meters away from people. To limit trips to the workshop the majority of stock is now at home. By the end of the week we'll have organised ourselves so dyeing can be done at home too.

We don't deliver parcels or allow orders to be collected fom us. That's been policy since we opened, and that policy will remain in place as we limit contact as much as possible.

Orders are packed by one person  and go straight into mail bags. Until now these bags have then gone to the post office, and from today that's changing.

To limit contact further we're going to have mail collected rather than taking it to the post office.  Orders will be collected by  on Fridays as this means we can deal with post with minimum contact with anyone. We're setting up daily collections, but this takes a little time, and the team dealing with this are understandably busy. Royal Mail advise they expect to maintain a service but it may be slower than normal. Once daily collections are in place we'll update our information.

UPDATE 03.04.20 We can now post smaller parcels into the post box rather than taking them to the post office so these will go daily. The post box we use is less than a minutes walk from the house, so parcels can be taken as part of my daily (government sanctioned) walk.

We've been advised that Royal Mail will focus on First Class and tracked post for deliveries. So with immediate effect we'll send all UK parcels as Firts Class unless you choose tracked post.

Overseas post is going to be slower. It may be very slow. It may stop. If you're ordering from abroad and know that you'd be happy to wait for your parcel to be posted please let us know. Your order can be put safely to one side and we'll post it once services return to normal.

Current UK Government advice is

"Online retail is still open and encouraged and postal and delivery service will run as normal. “

We

We'll continue to support charities - and we'll be donating to The Trussell Trust who are behind many of the UK foodbanks and who are going to be under more pressure than ever.
